MONTREAL , June 22, 2022

Chantal Rouleau, Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Metropolis and the Montreal region, is proud to announce that the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal (JCCM) project, Un réseau d'allié.e.s, is receiving $150,000 in support from the Government of Quebec.

Un réseau d'allié.e.s has been selected as part of the call for projects for a connected community of the Fonds d'initiative et de rayonnement de la métropole (FIRM). Launched in November 2021 by the Secrétariat à la région métropolitaine of the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation, this call aimed to support structuring initiatives in urban health in order to improve living environments, to reinforce the sense of pride and to encourage living together by making room for intercultural and intergenerational exchanges on the territory of Greater Montreal.

Through the implementation of a structuring mechanism that relies on the collaboration of the actors involved, the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal's project aims to promote greater inclusion of young people from culturally diverse backgrounds within the Quebec business community. By contributing to the improvement of certain social and economic determinants of health, this project complements the Quebec government's efforts to increase the well-being of the metropolitan population.

Quotes:

"With this structuring and inspiring project, the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal is connecting both ethnocultural leaders, large business leaders and members of the professional and community communities. I am proud that we are supporting this initiative that will strengthen the economic ecosystem of the metropolis. It will help equip young people with the realities of the job market, make institutions more aware of cultural plurality and create bridges between business people and their future employees.

Chantal Rouleau, Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Metropolis and the Montreal region

"By supporting the project Un réseau d'allié.e.s, which will allow the business community to forge new links with under-represented communities, the ARIF will have a real impact on the next generation of business people represented by the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal. Inclusion and diversity are two notions at the heart of the JCCM's priorities, and we are delighted to count on the support of the ARIF, which shares these values that we hold dear."
