Ravy Por, making numbers talk for the common good
Ravy Por is the head of the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies at KPMG and has an inspiring journey. Born in Quebec City to parents who were refugees from the Cambodian genocide, Ravy shares with us her experiences, which are the result of deep-rooted values such as mutual aid and community spirit.
The values of mutual aid, community, ethics and diversity in a broad sense have built who I am today.
Mathematics, a universal language
During her early school years, Ravy had little command of French. Mathematics turned out to be a true universal language for her. This is where her passion for this field was born, which later turned to the field of artificial intelligence.
I wanted to be a mathematician. And it was only at university that I discovered what I really wanted to do.
Driven by a desire to make a difference and add value to everything she does, Ravy now uses algorithms to have a positive impact on society, while placing a crucial importance on ethics and diversity. In an increasingly connected world, companies have responsibilities to the technologies they use. Through her role at KPMG, she helps and supports organizations in their analytical transitions and best practices in artificial intelligence.
If everything is connected around us, how will we respect the rights and freedoms of the cyber-citizen?
